Prof. Dr. Pingfan Rao

Director - China

Dr. Pingfan Rao is Professor and Director of the CAS.SIBS-Zhejiang Gongshang University Joint Center for Food and Nutrition Research. He earned his BA in Food Technology at Fuzhou University, China in 1982, and Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Osaka University (Japan) in 1989. Dr. Rao was elected as a fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) in 2008, and President of the IUFoST (2012-2014). He is honorary Vice President of Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, and Editor-in-chief of Nature Partner Journal (NPJ) Science of Food.
